Prof Musambayi Katumanga
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of
Nairobi; Prof Musambayi Specializes in Political Theory, Geo-politics, National Security Studies and Strategic
Studies. He partakes in lecturing on International Terrorism, National Security Policy Formulation Process,
Defense Policy Analysis, Intelligence Theory and Practice and African Politics.
He is a Visiting Associate Professor at the National Intelligence Academy (NIA) sharing knowledge on Intelligence
Theory and Practice, Migration and Comparative Security Architectures. He is also an Associate Professor at the
National Defense College (NDC) (K) and a Visiting Associate Professor at Strathmore University, Nairobi Kenya.
Prof has undertaken assignments for the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), USAID, NORAD, EASFCOM,
DFID, SIDA, Royal Dutch Missions and The Great Lakes Parliamentary Forum (AMANI). Consulted for various
European and African governments on issues of governance in the Great Lakes Region and the NEPAD’s Peer
Review Process.
Prior to these, he was a Research Associate with SIGLA (Stellenbosch Military Academy) Stellenbosch University)
