EAISS in partnership with KCA University in Nairobi, Kenya offers the following courses in both Executive and Academic platforms at several levels of study: Short duration courses of –

Modes of Training

Guard Force management
This course aims at imparting learners with skills and knowledge on proven management principles and their application to the Security industry. It is being offered inclusively and at different levels and specifically to the Guard Force elements in the security sector.
Security Management
We are currently living in a constantly changing and complex security, socio-economic and political environment context. This course aims at enhancing the safety, security, and emergency management practices in organizations and for the individual person.
Law enforcement
This course offers security officers with a set of specialized investigations, enforcement, and regulatory compliance knowledge base in order to address increasingly sophisticated, organized and technically challenging security issues.
Counter- terrorism and intelligence studies
Intelligence studies: this training will equip participants with intelligence skills in tackling challenges and threats posed by different terrorism groups. It covers an in-depth knowledge and skills applied to sustain the counter phase of this global security problem and enhance collaboration amongst agencies premised on intelligence led counter-terrorism.
Counter-Terrorism Studies
In this course you are introduced to the conflict condition referred to as “terrorism”, and the different dilemmas that countries face as they attempt to contend with terrorist problems (counter-terrorism). The course examines the fundamental issues behind terrorism and the current responses to this threat.
Disaster management
This training will equip participants with professional and international knowledge and skills to anticipate crisis, prepare for disasters and emergencies, manage disasters and emergencies, resources available and be able to efficiently share and allocate responsibilities.
Strategic studies and Diplomacy
This course aims at training leaders, decision and policy makers and advisors on professional conduct and the relevance of strategic thinking in the complex nature of international politics and strategic relations including relations with the international community. Learners are equipped with strategic analysis processing skills and techniques and basic Diplomatic and international relations skills amongst others.
Advanced Security Sector Reforms (ASSR)
ASSR course is meant to enhance participants’ understanding of SSR objectives, framework and processes in order to contribute effectively to Member states stabilisation missions within the framework of Peace Support. The ultimate goal is to substantially allow for a paradigm shift in SSR implementation across Member States from being state-centric to more people-centric.
Hostile Environment Awareness Training
Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course is to provide the Learners with the required knowledge, skills and attitudes on personal safety and security in mission and/or non-mission settings to effectively respond to existing and emerging risks and threats in hostile working environments.
Journalism in conflict and war zone areas
This programme prepares journalists and other media allied persons with professional skills in addressing security challenges emanating from their work in conflict and war zones and providing them with requisite capacity to engage in professional reporting while embedded with troops.
Case Management procedures
This course aims at equipping the members of the criminal justice system and other related professions with relevant knowledge and capacity to manage cases with a view of enhancing service delivery and fair dispensation of justice.
Security Sector Reforms
This course equips security professionals and leaders within the security sector on the relevant and required reforms towards enriching the decision and policy making processes concerning professionalization of the Security sector actors.
Crime Analytical skills
This course imparts learners with knowledge on how to perform detailed statistical analysis of crime data and how to utilize both computerized and non-computerized procedures in managing crime in their respective jurisdictions.

This course prepares and equips individuals both in the private and public sector with professional skills in international peace support operations.

This is a professional training course which explores and equips learners with robust techniques to manage and fight crime using both manual and electronic means.
Community Based policing
This course focuses on security personnel, civil society organizations, interested groups and the communities at large to strengthen their community safety and security awareness, deepen their capacities and understanding of community policing for effective implementation of the same.
Board Certification-Counterterrorism Expertise
The Institute in partnership with a UK Based Counterterrorism certification board will start the issuance of an internationally recognised counterterrorism expertise certification certificate beginning in April 2021.
